John Cage - Atlas Eclipticalis With Winter Music


This is the reissue of LP version, remastered with bonus tracks.
The first two CDs contain Live performances (Cornish Theater at the Cornish Institute, Seattle, Washington, 11 December 1983), played by The New Performance Group, with John Cage as conductor.
The third CD has two tracks: the first is a Live performance of Atlas Eclipticalis (Crowell Hall at Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut, 26 February 1988) played by The Wesleyan Symphony Orchestra/The Hartt Contemporary Players/The Arditti Quartet, with Melvin Strauss as conductor; the second, “Winter Music For 20 Pianos”, overdubbed by four pianists to perform the parts for 20 pianos, was directed by acclaimed Cage interpreter Stephen Drury.
