Luc Ferrari - Didascalies: And Other Pieces For Viola, Piano And Memorized Sound

The third and last release in Sub Rosa's three-part series of instrumental works by Luc Ferrari, one of electronic music's most important figures.
Director of the Groupe de Recherche Musicales, established with Pierre Schaeffer in Paris from 1958-1966, he is also one of the masters of musique concrète who influenced and expanded the genre with electro-acoustic instrumentation.
"Tautologos III" (a new version of "Tautologos") was finished a month before his death.

Come Crimson Rays represents the third and final part to a trilogy of solo tam tam recordings. The first two, Vibra #1 (w.m/r) and Vibra #2 (Longbox Recordings), dealt with the high (#1) and mid (#2) tones of the tam tam's spectrum.
This third recording concentrates exclusively on the bass region. Giant, pulsing bass swells and long, sumptuous decays mark this final instalment of historic releases.

INUI 4 is the fourth volume in Makoto’s series of occasional solo releases for VHF. While widely and rightly known for ear-splitting Deep Purple style guitar demolition with Acid Mothers Temple, Gong, etc, Kawabata’s INUI works are highly personal and introspective, with lots of room given to cosmic atmosphere and acoustic instruments.
INUI 4 is a single 68 minute track, a slow building and evolving multi-layered swath of acoustic & electric guitars, electronics, and hurdy gurdy.
The final 20 minutes of the track features prominent “glissando” guitar, ala Daevid Allen, a very fine sound to be lost in. Like the other INUI volumes, this includes great pix and design by Makoto and Kawabata Sachiko.
