BJ Nilsen - The Short Night

Benny Nilsen continues his territories exploration, using this time old tapemachines, generators, frequency analyzers and software.
Location recordings were Mälaren (Stockholm, Sweden) Coombe Gibbet (Berkshire, England) and Landakot (Vatnsleysuströnd, Iceland).
Seven tracks where sound crystallizes, showing us his diaphanous face, leading us into desolate landscapes.
A good soundtrack for next winter.

Lasse Marhaug - Into The Pandemonium

A commissioned sound installation for the Hole In The Sky festival in Bergen, Norway August 21-25th 2007.
The installation was made using six channels. This is an edit/simplified stereo mix made for Touch Radio.
"Into The Pandemonium" is a de-composition/ celebration of 25 years of extreme metal music. Fragments of classic moments in death/thrash/black metal music have been mangled, disfigured and reworked into a festering pulp of distortion, doom and noise.

Label: Touch
Cat. #: TouchRadio 26
Format: File, Mp3
Release date: 2007

Tracklisting:
01 - Into The Pandemonium (31:22)

Chris Watson - The Sound Of Islay: A Report From The Hebrides

Saligo Bay sits in the north west corner of the Island of Islay in the Scottish Hebrides. Atlantic waves break on the shore and westerly winds drive straight up the beach and create mosaic patterns of sound in the low-lying vegetation.
'The Sound of Islay' then waits for the winds to die and the sun to dip into the ocean before investigating the nocturnal sounds on the wetlands of Loch Gruinart.

Oren Ambarchi - In The Pendulum's Embrace

from Touch website:

Oren Ambarchi continues his otherworldly investigations with "In The Pendulum's Embrace", a dark twin to his landmark 2004 album "Grapes from the Estate" [Touch # TO:61].
Returning again to the hallowed halls of BJB Studios in Sydney, Ambarchi expands the scope and range of his unique musical language, incorporating an even broader pallette of instruments and sensibilities.
Despite the use of glass harmonica, strings, bells, piano, percussion and guitars, it's startling that the world created is still unmistakably his own, and that there is such a cohesion of vision throughout the albums's three lengthy pieces.
With this record there's an even more tenuous coexistence of fragility and density; sounds as light as air mingling with wall shaking low-end.
The converted already know the kind of trance-inducing euphoria of Ambarchi's music.

Label: Touch
Cat. #: TO:78
Format: CD
Release date: 2007

Tracklisting:
01 - Fever, A Warm Poison (17:54)
02 - Inamorata (10:19)
03 - Trailing Moss In Mystic Glow (12:36)
